The City of Saginaw provides Community Development Block Grant and HOME funding in the form of four grants. Their funding helps us purchase and renovate houses to sell to qualifying low-income partner families, provide housing counseling services, provide home maintenance classes and fund our organization because we are considered a Community Housing Development Organization.

Dow Chemical sponsors Neighborhood Revitalization on a yearly basis with funding for the Great Lakes Bay Region Habitats for Humanity (Midland, Bay and Saginaw counties). Hundreds of Dow volunteers will be dispersed among the three communities. Additionally, their company will also donate product (Dow Foam, Gaps & Cracks Insulating Foam, House wrap, Construction Tape, Sill Pans and Straight Flashing) to Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity. http://www.dow.com/habitat/

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis has several Home Initiative programs that we use to serve families in Saginaw and Shiawassee counties. The Neighborhood Impact Program provides up to $7,500 per qualifying family to make critical repairs to their homes, such as replacement of roofs, siding, insulation, windows, furnaces, water heaters. The Accessibility Modifications Program  provides up to $15,000 per qualifying household to make necessary repairs to make a home handicap-accessible.  You can replace tubs with zero-step entrance, replace toilets, put grab bars in the bathroom, expand the bathroom so it has a 5′ turn around, modify kitchen cabinets, widen doorways, etc.

Hunter Douglas

Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, Hunter Douglas provides blinds for any front/back doors or windows we replace.  http://www.hunterdouglas.com/about-us-green-philanthropic.jsp

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Michigan, MSHDA provides Down Payment Assistance of $12,000 per house to qualifying first time homebuyers.

Schneider

Frankenmuth Credit Union is a local partner with our affiliate. They are a member institution of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis which helps us access Neighborhood Impact Program and  Accessibility Modifications Program funding for qualifying families. In the two years that we have worked together to serve families in Saginaw and Shiawassee counties, we have brought in $621,000 to help families repair their homes.

Whirpool

Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, Whirpool donates a refrigerator and stove/range for every house we build or renovate. http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/habitat.jsp

Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, Yale locks will provide entry locks and deadbolts for homes we are rehabbing or which are part of the Critical Home Repair program. http://www2.yalelock.com/

Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, Valspar Paint will donate all primer, paint, porch and floor enamel, stain blocking primer, deck stain, sanding sealer and water bourne polyeurethane. In the United States there are over 1400 Habitat affiliates serving families in all 50 states. In the State of Michigan, there are 67 Habitat affiliates serving families in 83 counties. Habitat for Humanity International sets the vision for our ministry and provides grants, educational support and national partnerships to help us accomplish our mission locally.
