2016 Critical Home Repair & Home Preservation Program

Applications are available at our office: 315 Holland, Saginaw or 1494 N. M-52, Owosso

Dear Homeowner,

Greetings from Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity.  We are excited to begin planning Critical Home Repairs & Home Preservation projects for 2016.

Each year, Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity applies for grant funds to support critical home repair requests for homeowners.  The Critical Home Repair program grants up to $7500.00 for eligible repairs.  Eligible repairs include: roof, windows, gutters, doors, siding, furnace, water heater, insulation, handicap modifications, etc.  We also help homeowners in “focus” community neighborhoods that need their house spruced up with exterior painting and minor repairs/landscaping.  This is known as Home Preservation.  Our 2016 “focus” neighborhoods are: Buena Vista Township, St. Stephens/Southwest and Shiawassee County.

Be sure to submit all of the required documents listed on the back of the application when you submit your application.  An application must be complete before it will be reviewed.

Requirements are subject to change at any time.  The program fee is $100.00 which includes your title search, credit report and any additional fees.  After I have reviewed your application, I will call you to set up an interview.  You will be required to pay the program fee at this appointment.

Should you have further questions, please give me a call Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm at 989-753-5200 x 210.
